Entered Medical School at M.U. in 1915. He was a Section Leader at the M.U's OTC. SDGW gives his surname as Gaulburn. Formerly 50271 Manchester Rgt. He selected to enter the MGC and was training with them. However, after an attack of German Measles he returned to duty before he was properly fit to do so and died suddenly of a brain haemorrage. Originally buried at the Cheetham Hill Methodist Church Cemetery on Monday 11th June 1917. Death reported in the 15/06/1917 edition of the Altrincham Guardian, stating that his parents lived at Woodthorpe, Flixton. Listed on the Mcr Uni Memorial under "OFFICER TRAINING C" as Cadet JHG Holt. |
