Born during the March quarter 1913 in the Warrington R.D. - ref: 8c/333. Married Alice Ball during the December quarter 1939 in the Newton le Willows R.D. - ref: 8c/589. and they resided at 105 Cyprus Street, Stretford. 1939 National Registration - No Trace. A Police Constable No.917, serving with the Stretford Borough Police. CWD Report No.117. Died as a result of blast at Manor Road, Stretford, from where his body was recovered on the 12th March 1941 and taken to the Church Street, Stretford Mortuary. His body was identified by his father - P. Gaskell and released to W.G. Dixon, 4 Bickerstaff Street, St. Helens, Lancashire. Commemorated on the Stretford Police WW2 Memorial, in the Stretford WW2 Memorial Book, on the Trafford Park War Memorial and on the Lancashire Constabulary Roll of Honour. Death registered in Stretford Borough.
