Born during the June quarter 1917 in the Barton on Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/037, the son of Robert & Margaret Sophia Glover (nee Foster). In 1911 Robert & Margaret were residing at 232 Second Avenue, Trafford Park. Robert was an Engine Fitter. Married Mary Theresa Taylor during the December quarter 1940 in the Barton on Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/1785. An Armourer, he died in a flying accident in the sea 3 miles north of Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire. Buried 20/08/1942 - Burial No. 18,651. CWGC Headstone, which states that he was a Bomb Aimer. M.I. - "Jesus, author of life, grant unto him, eternal rest - my dear son Bill, from Dad - Robert Glover". |
