Born on the 22nd August 1895, the birth being registered during the December quarter 1895 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/810, the son of Hugh & Elizabeth Frail (nee Bentley). 1901 Census - 23 Mount Street, Chorlton on Medlock, Manchester. Son - aged: 6 - born: Manchester. Head of household - Hugh Frail - Married - aged: 49 - occ: Labourer at Fustian Warehouse - born: Preston, Lancashire. Also - Elizabeth Frail - Wife - occ: Cotton Mill Machine Winder - born: Manchester. Plus 5 elder siblings. 1911 Census - 23 Mount Street, Chorlton on Medlock, Manchester. Son - aged: 15 - occ: Little Piecer Spinning Room - born: Manchester. Head of household - Hugh Frail - Married - aged: 57 - occ: Fustian Raiser - born: Preston, Lancashire. Also - Elizabeth Frail - Wife - aged: 53 - born: Manchester. Plus 3 elder siblings. Henry married Florence Binns during the December quarter 1938 in the Stockport R.D. - ref: 8a/46. Florence resided at 27 Henshaw Street, Stretford, but this may have been after Henry's death ? 1939 National Registration - Claremont Road, Bristol, Gloucestershire. Henry Frail - Married - born: 22nd August 1895 - occ: Press Tool Setter Aero Co. Florence Frail - Married - born: 23rd November 1899 - occ: Ledger Clerk Cost Office. Arthur Collinge - Single - born: 29th March 1904 - occ: Progress Clerk Arero Co. At 15.09 hrs on Sunday 29th December 1940, the Rolls Royce factory at Crewe received a direct hit which killed 13 male and 4 female employees. There were two bombs, one clipped the end of what was known as "16 Shop" and the other fell on the electrical substation just outside. In what is now the Bentley Motors Factory, there is a propeller shaped memorial to the 17 employees that died in that incident - 13 male and 4 female. Listed in Stretford WW2 Memorial book as having been killed on 29/11/40. CWGC originally had his date of death as 29/11/1940 - they have now corrected that. Death registered in Crewe Borough. He was buried in the family grave in Manchester (Southern) Cemetery with his parents on the 3rd January 1941.
