Joined the Metro-Vicker's Company as a Storekeeper in September 1938 and employed in the H. Traction Department. Joined the RNVR and was mobilised in August 1939. Served in H.M. Destroyers and later in H.M. Minesweepers. CWGC states he was on H.M.S. "Paragon" whereas the M-V Mem states H.M.S. "Pembroke". Cemetery records state that he was with the R.N. Detatchment at Redcar, Yorkshire. Died of Pulmonary T.B. at R.N. Ancilliary Hospital, Southport, Lancs. Buried 05/02/1945 - Burial No. 12,350. Commemorated on the private family gravestone in Hale Cemetery. |
