Born during the March quarter 1888 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/361,
the only child of George & Nancy Eden (nee Green).

In 1871, George & his wife - Elizabeth Eden were farming at Pavement Lane
Farm, Mobberley - they had 2 daughters and 2 sons.   Elizabeth died in
1877, aged: 32.   George then married Nancy Green in 1887.

1891 Census - Bull's Head P.H. Spout Lane, Mobberley.   Son - aged: 3 -
born: Mobberley.   Head of household - George Eden - Married - aged: 47 -
occ: Publican - born: Mobberley.   Also - Nancy Eden - Wife - aged: 36 -
born: Mobberley.   Plus 1 domestic servant.   No trace of George's other 4
children, only William.

His father - George Eden died in 1894, aged: 80 (sic ???).   Should have
read '50', not 80.

1901 Census - Mobberley Mill (Bull's Head P.H. Mobberley.   Son - aged: 13
- born: Mobberley.  Head of household - Nancy Eden - Widow - aged: 46 -
occ: Inn Keeper - born: Mobberley.    Plus 1 domestic servant.

1911 Census - Mobberley Mill (Bull's Head P.H. Mobberley.   Son - aged: 23
- occ: Estate Joiner - born: Mobberley.  Head of household - Nancy Eden -
Widow - aged: 56 - occ: Publican - born: Mobberley. 

His mother - Nancy Eden died in 1912, aged: 57 and William continued as the
Licensee.  He was a keen sportsman, playing both football and cricket and
was one of the best all-rounders in Cheshire's cricketing circles.

WO 363 - Enlisted at Chester into the 14th Bn, Cheshire Rgt on the 10th
December 1915.   Aged: 28 years 11 months, he resided at the Bull's Head
P.H.  Mobberley and employed as a Publican.   He was 5 feet 11 1/4 inches
in height and his chest measurements were 33 1/2 inches to 35 inches
expanded.

He was admitted into the Prees Heath Military Hospital on the 8th March
1916, suffering from Acute Pthisis (T.B.).  He died of this disease and
Cardiac Failure on the 5th May 1916 at the Prees Heath Military Hospital,
Shropshire.

His personal items were sent to a Hugh Eden in October 1916.  Hugh (b.1872)
was one of two half-brothers, (the other was George (b.1874) residing at
Hayfield Farm Bold, Widnes, Lancashire.   A half-sister also resided at
this address.    George Edward Willett of Town Lane, Mobberley was his
cousin.

Death registered during the June quarter 1916 in the Whitchurch
(Shropshire) R.D. - ref: 6a/859, aged: 29.
