Born during the September quarter 1895 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref:
8a/199, the eldest son of Sidney & Lois Anastatia Drake (nee Greene).

1901 census - "Kilmorey", Georges Road, Sale.   Son - aged: 5 - born: Sale.
  Head of household - Sidney Drake - Married - aged: 38 - occ: Cotton
Merchant - born: Walworth, Surrey.   Also - Lois A. Drake - Wife - aged: 30
- born: Brixton, Surrey.    Plus 2 younger siblings - 2 visitors and 3
domestic servants.

1911 Census - No Trace.

Attended Clive House School, Old Colwyn and Haileybury College,
Hertfordshire.

After working for 15 months in Berlin, he returned home to the UK in
December 1912.     He was employed by Messrs. Hitchcock, Williams & Co, St
Paul's Churchyard, London until he was commissioned in the Cheshire Rgt in
October 1914. 

Formerly - 3rd Bn Cheshire Rgt, he was drafted to Gallipoli in August 1915
and served there until he was invalided home in December 1915, suffering
from Dysentery.    After his recovery, he transferred into the RAF on the
10th June 1918.

Recorded as being fit only for ground duties w.e.f. 18th October 1918.   
Contracted Influenza and following an operation, died of heart failure at a
Birkenhead Nursing Home.

Buried 13/12/1918 - Burial No. 15,817.

Death reported in the 20/12/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian, that
states that his Mother lived at Ellanbrook, Sale, as does his RAF record.
