Born during the June quarter 1896 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/194, the 3rd son of John & Elizabeth Davies (nee Crowther). The first two sons were John and Charles. 1901 Census - Northenden Road, Baguley. Son - aged: 4 - born: Baguley. Head of household - John Davies - Married - aged: 43 - occ: Farm Labourer - born: Northenden. Also - Eliza Davies - Wife - aged: 39 - born: Northenden. Plus 6 siblings. Attended St. John's C.of E. School, Baguley. 1911 Census - Northenden Road, Baguley. Son - aged: 14 - occ: Assistant Gardener (Domestic) - born: Baguley. Head of household - John Davies - Married - aged: 52 - occ: Farm Labourer - born: Northenden. Also - Eliza Davies - Wife - aged: 49 - born: Northenden. Plus 3 siblings and 1 niece. Attended St. John's Church, Brooklands. His parents were for many years the caretakers at Baguley School. Employed by Mrs. E. Jackson, Northenden Rd, Baguley Enlisted in January 1916 and drafted to the front in June 1916. Death reported in the 01/12/1916 edition of the Altricham Guardian.
