Born during the June quarter 1893 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/198, the
son of John & Damaris Davenport (nee Smith).   Her marriage record states
'DEEMRISS'.    No trace of her birth registration apart from an 'un-named
female' - Warrington 1866.  [I am going with Damaris as that is what her
husband wrote in his own hand on the 1911 census return].

Labourer - born: Altrincham.   Head of household - John Davenport - Married
- aged: 47 - occ: General Labourer - born: Hale.   Also - Demaris Davenport

Married Ethel Barkworth during the June quarter 1912 in the Bucklow R.D. -
ref: 8a/440.   The Barkworth family lived at 5 Atlantic Street,
Altrincham.

John enlisted in July 1917.

Caught up in "Operation Michael", the final German offensive of WW1 that
commemnced on the 21st March 1918.   Death reported in the 17/05/1918
edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

He left a widow and two children.
