Born during the June quarter 1905 in the Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/166, the
son of Arthur & Eliza Clarke (nee Berry).

1921 Census - 31 Stainton Terrace, Timperley.    Son - aged: 16 - occ:
General Farm Work for W. Tabener (Market Gardener) - born: Timperley.   
Head of household - Arthur Clarke - Married - aged: 41 - occ: Salesman for
William Clarke (Wholesale Provision Merchant) - born: Timperley.   Also -
Eliza Clarke - Wife - aged: 40 - born: Timperley.    Plus - 1 elder
sister.

1939 National Registration.   No Trace (presumably already serving in the
armed forces).  His parents were then residing at 31 Hall Road, Timperley.

Attended Navigation Rd School.   Member of the Timperley Company of the
Church Lads Brigade.

Awarded a "Certificate of Achievement" during the 1st W.W. period, 1915 -
1919 for collecting a total of 18,296 eggs for the wounded soldiers in the
Timperley Red Cross Hospital. 

Employed as a gardener in private service at Bowdon.   Joined T.A. in 1939.
Mobilised and joined Ches Regt.

Commemorated on the private family gravestone in Christchurch Churchyard,
Timperley.

His father, Arthur died 27/09/1951 aged 74 years and his mother, Eliza died
15/10/1951 aged 70 years.
