Born during the March quarter 1891 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/181,
the eldest son of John Bradshaw & Harriet Clarke (neé Howard).

Employed by Messrs. E. & J. Andrews, Manchester.   Member of the Hale
Unitarian Chapel Choir and Sunday School.

Enlisted in August 1914, promoted to the rank of Sergeant and drafted to
the front.      Later, invalided home with gas poisoning.     He applied
for a commission and was sent to the Emmaunuel College, Cambridge, where he
died of Pneumonia.

Death reported in the 08/11/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

SDGW lists him as being with the 8th Bn.   Posted as a Cadet to No. 2
Officers Cadet Bn., Pembroke College.

Buried in the family grave.  His father, John, died on 31/03/1936 aged 73
years and his mother - Harriett, died 02/12/1935 aged 77 years.   They lost
three other sons who each died young in 1886, 1887 & 1889.   This is the
only war grave in the Hale Unitarian Chapel Yard.
