Son - aged: 5 - born: London, Middlesex Head of household - James Henry Cocker - Married - aged: 38 - occ: Brewer's Agent - born: Hathersage, Derbyshire. Also - Emily Jane Cocker - Wife - aged:: 25 - born: London, Middlesex. Plus 2 younger brothers. 1891 Census - 14 Granville Street, Moss Side, Manchester. Son - aged: 15 - occ: Stationer's Assistant - born: London. Head of household - James Henry Cocker - Married - aged: 48 - occ: Brewer's Traveller - born: Hathersage, Derbyshire. Also - Emily Jane Cocker - Wife - aged: 35 - born: London. Plus 5 younger brothers. His mother Mary died 15/04/1894 aged 38. By 1901, his widower father and 3 siblings were residing at 7, Carpenters Road, Aston Manor, Aston, Warwickshire. His father was now employed as a Commercial Clerk. His father died there in 1908. Wounded on 3 Aug 1900 at Nr Rhenoster, near Kroonstad, Orange Free State. Commemorated on the private family gravestone in Stretford Cemetery where his mother is buried. His name is not listed on the Kroonstad Cemetery Memorial. "In Memorium" states that his name appears only in the Church register. |
