Born Hilda Victoria Williamson on the 24th May 1914, the birth being registered during the June quarter 1914 in the Barton on Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/1325. Married Sydney Bland during the September quarter 1938 in the Manchester North R.D. - ref: 8d/1704. They resided at 395 Stretford Road, Old Trafford, where she was killed on the 7th October 1940. 1939 National Registration - 6 Gordon Street, Stretford. Sydney Bland - Married - born: 2nd June 1914 - occ: Matress Maker. Hilda V. Bland - Married - born: 24th May 1914 - occ: Unpaid Domestic Duties. CWD Report No.003. Died as a result of falling debris at her home - 395 Stretford Road, Stretford, from where her body was recovered on the 8th October 1940 and taken to the Church Street Mortuary, Stretford where it was identified by her hsband - Sydney Bland to whom it was released for burial. She was described as being "5 feet 2 inches in height, sturdy, with blue eyes". Buried 12/10/1940 - Burial No. 17,761. |
