Commemorated on the private family gravestone in the Jewish Cemetery, Urmston, which mentions that he had a wife. His father, Abraham died 16/12/1942 aged 65 years and his mother, Jane died 25/11/1940. Gravestone also mentions that he had a widow, but does not give her name. Both Abraham & Jane Watelsky are recorded on the 1911 census returns, but not Leslie. I have not been able to find a record of his birth. 1911 Census - Abraham Watelsky - Head - Married - aged: 34 - occ: Yailor in Factory - born: Russia. Jane Watelsky - Wife -Married - aged: 33 - Grocery Shopkeeper - born: Russia. They had been married for 14 years - presumably in Russia as there is no British record of the marriage. They produced 11 children, of whom 9 were still alive and all the surviviors were born in the UK. M.I. - "In proud memory of a beloved husband, daddy and brother. Sadly missed". Both the CD & the CWGC list his name as Leslie Bartell. Kia in Burma.
