Born during the June quarter 1893 in the Bury R.D. - ref: 8c/624, the
eldest son of Edmund & Clara Blomeley (nee Kay).

1901 Census - 12 Raymond Street, Bury.   Son - aged: 7 - born: Bury.   Head
of household - Edmund Blomeley - Married - aged: 33 - occ: Civil Service
Clerk in Post Office - born: Rochdale.   Also - Clara Blomeley - Wife -
aged: 33 - born: Bury.   Plus 3 siblings.

1911 Census - 18 Haddon Grove, Sale.   Son - aged: 17 - occ: Bank Clerk -
born: Bury.    Head of household - Edmund Blomeley - Married - aged: 43 -
occ: Civil Service Clerk in Post Office - born: Rochdale.   Also - Clara
Blomeley - Wife - aged: 43 - born: Bury.   Plus 6 siblings.

The 20th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (3rd Public School's Battalion) served
with the 19th Brigade, 33 Division.   They arrived at Poulainville from
Givenchy on the 10th July 1916.  Moved to Vecquemont on the 11th and to
Biure-sur-l'Ancre on the 12th.  Moved to Meaulte on the 14th and to Mametz
Wood on the 15th and occupied trenches between Bazentine-le-Petit and High
Wood.   Attached High Wood on the 20th sustaining 390 casualties in fierce
close quarter fighting.  One of those was Private Blomeley.

His MIC states that he was posted to France on 14/11/1915.  Awarded the
1915 Star, the BWM & VM.
