Sick Berth Attendant. There is no reference to any ship on the CWGC's database and the only R.N. Ship I am aware of that was lost on the 24/10/1943 was H.M.S. Eclipse and 'E' Class Destroyer sunk in the Mediterranean by a mine East of Kalymnos in position 37.01N - 27.11E. H.M.S. Eclipse was carrying 200 soldiers to reinforce the garrison at Leros when she was mined. In addition to her own crew members, 140 of the soldiers she was carrying were also killed. |
