A.W.M. Memorial.
Born at Flixton, he emigrated when aged 20 (1913) and settled at Albury,
New South Wales.    He was employed as a Butcher.    He enlisted on the
24th October 1916.

On being wounded, he was obviously brought back to England where he died of
his wounds, probably in the Sobraon Barracks Military Hospital at
Colchester.   His death was registered during the December quarter 1917 in
the Tendring R.D. - ref: 4a/695 - aged: 25.  Colchester is within the
Tendring R.D.

Post War, his widowed mother resided at 2 Victoria Avenue, Flixton.   His
father, Henry died 01/07/1912 aged 52 years and his mother, Nancy died
05/01/1930 aged 68 years.
