son of William & Ellen Golding (nee Rulton).

born: Moss Side, Manchester.    Head of household - William Golding -
Married - aged: 41 - occ: Costume Maker, employing 19 hands - born:
Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.  Also - Ellen Golding - Wife - aged: 41 - occ:
Shopkeeper, Baby Linen - born: Harpurhey, Manchester.     Plus five elder
siblings, all of whom were born at Sale.

1891 Census - 4 Portman Street, Moss Side, Manchester.   Son - aged: 11 -
Scholar - born: Moss Side, Manchester.   Head of household - William
Golding - Married - aged: 51 - occ: Patenter & Inventor - born: Wisbech,
Cambridgeshire.   Also Ellen Golding - Wife - aged: 51 - born:Manchester. 
Plus 5 elder and 1 younger siblings.

1901 Census - His widowed mother was now residing at 12, Manley Road,
Withington, Manchester.     Head - aged: 60 - occ: Living on own means -
born: Manchester.   Plus 3 elder siblings.

1911 Census - His widowed mother is now residing at 37 Albion Road,
Rusholme, Manchester.     Widow - aged: 70.

WO96 - entitled to the QSA Medal with Cape Colony, Orange Free State and
Transvaal clasps.

Commemorated on the family gravestone in Sale Cemetery - K.651.

His father William died 06/01/1899 aged 59 years and his mother Ellen died
06/01/1916 aged 74 years.

There is no marker for his grave, nor is his name listed on any memorial at
Steynsberg.
