son of Joseph & Ann Ellen Toft (nee Booth).

1891 Census - 57 Pennys Lane, Witton Cum Twambrooks, Witton, Northwich,
Cheshire.    Son - aged: 8 - Scholar - born: Knutsford, Cheshire.    Head
of household - Joseph Toft - Married - aged: 28 - occ: Joiner - born:
Warrington.  Also Ann Ellen Toft - Wife - aged: 28 - born: Wincham,
Cheshire.   Plus 4 siblings.

1901 Census - No Trace.

1911 Census -  38 Bowness Street, Stretford.   Boarder - aged: 28 - occ:
Railway Platelayer - born: Knutsford, Cheshire.   Residing with Arthur &
Margaret Hall.    His parents and family were then residing at 1051 Chester
Road, Stretford.   Joseph Snr - aged: 48 - occ: Joiner and Ann Ellen -
aged: 48, plus 3 siblings.

Married - Margaret Hall during the June quarter 1913 in the Barton upon
Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/1179.

Pension Records - Widow - Marguerite Toft, 70 Kendal Street, Stretford.  
Awarded a Grant of £8. on the 1st August 1918 and a weekly pension of
29/7d w.e.f. the  30th December 1918.   Marguerite claimed for three
children - Amy Toft (b.20/09/1909);  Nellie Toft (b.31/10/1913 and Joan
Toft (b.09/01/1916.   Marguerite's DoB 12th December 1888.
