Born during the March quarter 1890 in the Congleton R.D - ref: 8a/291, the
only son of Charles Willey & Elizabeth Masters (nee Murfin).

1891 Census - School House, Cross Lanes, Leese, Congleton, Cheshire.    Son
- aged: 1 - born: Leese, Cheshire.    Head of household - Charles Masters -
Married - aged: 30 - occ: School Master - born: Uphill, Somerset.  Also
Elizabeth Masters - Wife - aged: 26 - born: Stapleford, Nottinghamshire.

1901 Census - No Trace, but they are recorded in the Leese Voters' list as
still residing at the School House. 

1911 Census - 4 Beech Road, Sale.   Son - aged: 21 - occ: Insurance Clerk -
born: Leese, Cheshire.   Head of household - Charles Masters - Married -
aged: 50 - occ: Book Keeper - born: Uphill, Somerset.  Also Elizabeth
Masters - Wife - aged: 46 - born: Stapleford, Nottinghamshire.

Member of St. Anne's Christian Brotherhood.

Another Company was carrying out an important raid and requested extra
Stretcher Bearers, so he volunteered.

Death reported in the 26/10/1917 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

CWGC - Son of Charles W. & Elizabeth Masters, 4 Beech Road, Sale.  Scholar
of Sandbach School and an official of the Alliance Assurance company,
Manchester.

Pension Records.   Dependant - Mother - Mrs. E, Masters, 4 Beech Road,
Sale.   Died of wounds at Salonica.   Awarded a weekly pension of 9/6d
w.e.f. the 16th April 1918.  

Commemorated on the family gravestone in Sale Cemetery which states that he
died at Salonika - M.I. - "Faithful & True".

His father - Charles Willey Masters died on the 11th February 1937, aged 75
years and his Mother - Elizabeth Maters, died on the 10th July 1952, aged:
87 years.
