Joined the Metro-Vicker's Company as a Labourer in October 1937 and
employed in the Receiving Department.   Joined the Territorial Army and
mobilised in September 1939 and later posted to the Far East.    KinA in
Burma (now Myanmar) in May 1944.

WIKIPEDIA - The 77th Indian Infantry Brigade was an infantry brigade
formation of the Indian Army during World War II. It was formed in India in
June 1942. The brigade was assigned to the Chindits and organised into
eight columns for operations behind enemy lines in Burma.
