Born during the March quarter 1921 in the Leigh R.D. - ref: 8c/483, the son
of George & Sarah Gadd.

1939 National Registration - No Trace - His parents were residing at 44
Schofield Street, Leigh, Lancashire.

Joined the Metro-Vicker's Company in March 1938 and employed as an
Inspector in the West Works Extension 4 Test Department.    Joined the
RAFVR in February 1942, commissioned as a Pilot Officer in 1943 and later
promoted to the rank of Flying Officer.   Reported missing from air
operations over enemy territory in November 1944 and later presumed killed
in action.

Flying from RAF North Killingholme in a Lancaster MkI bomber No. PD255
BQ-T, they took of at 16.16 hrs to bomb Dusseldorf.  The a/c was piloted by
Flight Lieutenant D.J. Foster.
