Born during the June quarter in the Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/175, the son of
William Martin & Clara Eckersley (nee Stannard).

1901 Census - 22 Broady Street, Stretford.   Son - aged: 2 - born:
Timperley.   Head of household - W. Martin Eckersley - Married - aged: 29 -
occ: Book Keeper mat Wholesale Plumbers Merchant - born: Barrow in Furness,
Lancashire.    Also - Clara Eckersley - Wife - aged: 35 - born: Kirkstall,
Yorkshire.   Plus 1 younger brother - born at Stretford and his Paternal
aunt.

1911 Census - 105 King Street, Stretford.   Son - aged: 12 - Scholar -
born: Timperley.   Head of household - William Martin Eckersley - Married -
aged: 40 - occ: Advertising Manager - born: Barrow in Furness, Lancashire. 
  Also - Clara Eckersley - Wife - aged: 25 - born: Kirkstall, Yorkshire.  
Plus 6 younger siblings.   It would appear that the family resided at
Brooklands, Sale between 1907 and 1910.

Admitted to Victoria Park Council School in 1910. 

Uncle of John Eckersley, Newsagents, Marsland Road, Sale.

SDGW states that he "Died" which indicates that he died of natural causes,
however I am informed by a relative that he died in no mans land from
friendly fire whilst fixing the fencing.

CWGC - Son of William M. & Clara Eckersley of 105 King Street, Stretford.
