1911 Census - No Trace.  Perhaps he had signed up as a regular soldier by
now?   His parents were still residing at Rostherne at this time.

Enlisted at Manchester.    Served abroad for four years.    CWGC states
that he was with the 20th Depot Coy.

He died in  the Military Hospital at Bermondsey, London.  His death was
reported in the 11/10/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

Private Gravestone.     M.I. "At Peace".     Commemorated on the Royal
Engineers HQ Memorial.

Drafted to Egypt on the 25th September 1914.    He qualified for three war
medals - the 1915 Star, the BWM & the VM.
