Enlisted in January 1916.    MIC confirms that he served in the RE's, but
gives a second number for him - (T) 3205.  He was awarded only the BWM &
the VM indicating that he did not go to France until 1916 at least.

Death reported in the 26/04/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian. 

His father was a Ticket Inspector at the Oxford Road Railway Station,
Manchester.
