Born during the March quarter 1913 in the Burnley R.D. - ref; 8e/440, the
youngest son of Henry Walmsley & Ida Clarke (nee Roberts).

Attended Springfield School and Sale Central School.    Played rugby for
both Ashton on Mersey & Didsbury RUFCs.    Employed for 10 years as Chief
Librarian at the Daily Mail Newspaper in Manchester.

Married Marjorie Martin during the June quarter 1941 in the Bucklow R.D. -
ref: 8a/716.
