son of Charles & Annie Elizabeth Wood.

1901 Census - 23 Northenden Road, Sale.   Son - aged: 9 - born: Heywood,
Lancashire.   Head of household - Charles Wood (Snr) Married - aged: 50 -
occ: Assistant Tobacconist - born: Eccles.    Also - Annie E. Wood - Wife -
aged: 41 - occ: Tobacconist & Stationer - born: Bewdley, Worcestershire.   
Plus 3 sisters.

Attended St. Anne's Church School.

His father Charles, died 24/12/1907 aged 45 years.

1911 Census - 23 Northenden Road, Sale.   Son - aged: 19 - occ: Clerk in
Office - born: Heywood, Lancashire.   Head of household - Annie Elizabeth
Wood - Widow - aged: 50 - occ: Shop Keeper Tobacco Retailer - born:
Bewdley, Worcestershire.    Plus 3 sisters and 1 visitor.

Married May Aldcroft during the December quarter 1915.

Previously employed by the Bridgewater Coal Co Offices at Sale.

Member of the St. Anne's Christian Brotherhood.

Death reported in the 16/04/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian, which
states that his widow plus two little children were living with her sister
at Dane Road.

Commemorated on the private family gravestone in St. Catherine's, Barton on
Irwell Ref: 7n2.

Pension Records - Widow - May Wood, 24 Dane Road, Sale, plus two children. 
Another record states 44 Dale Road ???.   Awarded a weekly pension of £1.
6s. 8d for herself and 10/- for the two children - Charles (b. 04/07/1916)
and Derrick (b. 25/08/1917).   Derrick died on 26/05/1918 and May's pension
was reduced to 20/5d.
