the eldest son of John George & Florence Gertrude Chapman (nee Bent).

1891 Census - Lodging House, West Beach, Lytham, Fylde.   Visitor (along
with his mother, 3 siblings and his maternal grandfather and a maternal
aunt), - aged: 3 - born: Middleton, Durham.   Head of household - Florence
G. Chapman - Visitor - Married - aged: 27 - born: Leeds, Yorkshire.   Plus
3 siblings and Peter Bent (his maternal grandfather) - Married - aged: 63 -
occ: Bank Manager - born: Eccles.

1901 Census -   No Trace.

Educated at Charterhouse & University College, London where he obtained his
B.Sc (Hons) Civil Engineering.     Employed at the Partington Steel Works.

1911 Census - No Trace.

Enlisted in 1914.

Death reported in the 01/08/1916 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

His father J.G. Chapman was reported as living at Harrogate.   The CWGC
states that he was living at Amberley, Newmarket and was a native of
Harrogate.
