Born at Sale on the 20th November 1884, the birth being registered during
the March quarter 1885 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/178, the son of
Wallace & Julia Rosina Martyn (nee Maspero).  Baptised at St. Anne's P.C.
Sale Moor on the 11th January 1885.   Baptised with his sister - Emily
Larinia Martyn.   Their father was recorded as a Police Sergeant.

His mother - Julia Rosina Martyn died in 1886, aged: 36.   Wallace then
married Annie Wright during the September quarter 1887 in the Altrincham
R.D. - ref: 8a/240.   

1891 Census - Eccleston Hill, (James Swindley Walk), Eccleston, Cheshire.  
Son - aged: 6 - born: Sale.    Head of household - Wallace Martyn - Married
- aged: 44 - occ: Police Sergeant - born: Wincanton, Somerset.   Also -
Anne Martyn - Wife - aged: 34 - born: Ashton upon Mersey.   Plus 2 sisters
and 1 half-sister.

Admitted to Eccleston Mixed School, Cheshire on the 16th February 1891. 
Born on the 20th November 1884.

Wallace's second wife died in 1894, aged: 38.   He then married his third
wife during the December quarter 1896 in the Chester R.D. - ref: 8a/685.

Cheshire.   Son - aged: 16 - occ: Apprentice Joiner - born: Sale.    Head
of household - Wallace Martyn - Married - aged: 51 - occ: Police Sergeant -
born: Wincanton, Somerset.   Also - Emma Martyn - Wife - aged: 41 - born:
Farndon, Cheshire.   Plus 2 sisters and 2 half-sisters.

Joined the General Union of Carpenters & Joiners (City of Chester Lodge) on
the 24th April 1909.   He paid 9/2d membership fees in June 1909, 11/-  in
September 1909 and 12/10d in December 1909.   His payments for 1910 were -
12/10d and 14/-.

1911 Census - 21 Wimbledon Street, Liscard, Cheshire.   Boarder - aged: 25
- occ: Joiner - born: Sale.   Boarding with Francis & Bessie Gridgeman.  
His father, aged: 62  and now retired, was living on the High Street,
Farndon, Cheshire with Emma and Lewis' 2 half-sisters.
