Born during the March quarter 1893 in the Altricham R.D. - ref: 8a/178, 
the son of Peter & Louisa Margaret Coupe (nee Wilton).   In 1891 his
parents were resding at South Villa, 40 Poplar Grove, Sale, which is
probably where Basil was born.

1901 Census - 1 Dicconson Terrace, Lytham, Lancashire.   Son - aged: 8 -
born: Brooklands, Sale.   Head of household - Peter Coupe - Married - aged:
41 - occ: Commercial Traveller - born: Preston, Lancashire.   Also - Louise
Coupe - Wife - aged: 38 - born: Manchester.   Plus 5 siblings (including
his younger brother - Peter Noel Coupe who was also killed during WW1) 1
vistor and 1 domestic servant..

1911 Census - 37 Manley Road, Alexandra Park, Manchester.    Son - aged: 18
- occ: Clerk to Insurance Company - born: Sale.   Head of household - Peter
Coupe - Married - aged: 51 - occ: Commercial Traveller with Furniture
Manufacturer - born: Preston, Lancashire.   Also - Louise Margaret Coupe -
Wife - aged: 47 - born: Manchester.   Plus 6 siblings (including his
younger brother - Peter Noel Coupe who was also killed during WW1).

M.I. - "He pleased God and was beloved and living amongst sinners.  He was
translated".

Buried in a triple grave with Private H.E. Harper - Bedfordshire Rgt and
Private F.W. Carver - Royal Fusiliers.

CWGC - Son of Peter and Louisa Coupe, of Brook Cottage, Mottram St. Andrew,
Prestbury, Cheshire. Native of Whalley Range, Manchester.

Post War, his parents are shown at two addresses by the CWGC.  For Basil it
was at Brook Cottage, Mottram St. Andrew, Prestbury, Cheshire and for Peter
Noel (Noel) it was at 29, Dartmouth Rd., Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester.

Peter & Louise lost two sons within 2 weeks on the Somme.
