Born during the March quarter 1895 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/933, the
son of Joseph & Elizabeth Dobb (nee Cottrial)

1901 Census - 48 Elleray Road, Pendlton, Salford.   Son - aged: 5 - born:
Mnanchester.  Head of household - Joseph Dobb - Married - aged: 42 - occ:
Furniture Shop Keeper - born: Manchester.

His father - Joseph Dobb died in March quarter of 1903 and his mother then
married Joseph Paxton during the September quarter 1903.

1911 Census - "Westfield",  Wythenshawe Road, Sale.    Stepson - aged: 15 -
Scholar - born: Manchester.   Head of household - Joseph Paxton  - Married
- aged: 49 - occ: Commission Agent - born: Pendleton, Salford.   Also -
Elizabeth Paxton (Arthur's Mother) - Wife - aged: 37 - born: Manchester.

His stepfather - Joseph Paxton died in 1916, aged: 53.  Elizabeth married -
Charles C. Wood in 1918 ?
 
Member of St. Anne's Christian Brotherhood.

Employed by the Local War Pensions Committee, Dickinson St., Manchester.

Death reported in the 25/01/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian, which
states that at the time of Arthur's death, his mother (still Mrs. Dobb) was
living at "Westfield", Wythenshawe Rd, Sale Moor.  Strange that his mother
is recorded as still being a Dobb, when there is clear evidence of her
marrying Joseph Paxton (BMD & Census).   Also according to both the CWGC
and BMD's, she added "Eleanor Shaw" as additional middle names ???

their main War Memorial?
