Born during the September quarter 1892 in the Manchester R.D. - ref:
8d/230, the son of George Henry & Annie Sloane (nee Harrison).

His father died during the June quarter 1900, aged: 35.

1901 Census - 13 Mason Street, Sale.    Son - aged: 9 - born: Manchester. 
Head of household - Annie Sloane - Widow - aged: 30 - ooc: Charwoman -
born: Douglas, Isle of Man.   Plus 2 younger siblings.

1911 Census - No Trace.

His younger brother - James Henry Sloane was then at Bishop Brown's
Memorial School Convent, High Street, Stockport.   Inmate - aged: 11 -
half-time school - shirt making Industrial Institute.   No trace of his
sister - Elizabeth Sloane.

His mother received a letter from Harry Crowther on the 1st May informing
her that he had been hit by a bullet whilst he was at the back of the
trench and died immediately.   He also goes on to talk about the living
hell in the trenches.    Photo in local newspaper.

Death reported in the 07/05/1915 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.
