Born 1895, the son of Samuel & Emma Parsonage (nee Dobson).  [No trace
BMDs]

In 1891 the family were residing at 74 Owen Street, Hulme, Manchester,
which supports the SDGW reference to him being born at Hulme - whereas the
census returns state that he was born at Sale.

1901 Census - 2 Egerton Street, Sale.   Son - aged: 6 - born: Sale.    Head
of household - Samuel Parsonage - Married - aged: 42 - occ: Greengrocer
(Hawker) - born: Chester.    Also - Emma Parsonage - Wife - aged: 40 -
born: Wales.  Plus 5 siblings.

This family were obviously not keen on the registration system !  
Presumably Emma died 1901 - 1906 ?   Samuel married Barbara ????? in 1907.

1911 Census - 2 Egerton Street, Sale.   Son - aged: 16 - occ: Greengrocer
(Hawker) - born: Sale.    Head of household - Samuel Parsonage - Married -
aged: 50 - occ: Greengrocer (Hawker) - born: Chester.    Also - Barbara
Parsonage - Wife - aged: 41 - born: Manchester.  Plus 4 siblings.

Pioneer Bn.    'D' Company - landed at Le Havre on 15th February 1915.

Death reported in the 13/04/1915 edition of the Altrincham Guardian which
reports that his father - Samuel Parsonage was serving as was 4 of his
sons.   Photo in the 16/04/1915 edition of the local newspaper.

His much younger brother - Samuel Parsonage, born 1911 - was killed in
Burma in 1944 - See under "Sale WW2".

Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1916.
