the son of George & Martha Lewis (nee Holmes).

Married Annie Greenham during the June quarter 1915 in the Bucklow R.D. -
ref: 8a/418.

1901 Census - Beech Grove, Ashton upon Mersey.   Son - aged: 12 - born:
Ashton upon Mersey.   Head of household - George Lewis - Married - aged: 46
- occ: Gardener (not Domestic) - born: Derbyshire.  Also - Martha Lewis -
Wife - aged: 42 - born: Brixton, Derbyshire.   Plus 5 siblings.

1911 Census - Beech Grove, Ashton upon Mersey.   Son - aged: 22 - occ: A.A.
Patrolman - born: Ashton upon Mersey.   Head of household - George Lewis -
Married - aged: 54 - occ: Gardener - born: Holt, Denbighshire.  Also -
Martha Lewis - Wife - aged: 52 - born: Fairfield, Derbyshire.   Plus 5
siblings.

Thomas and Annie's only child - Hilda Betty Lewis was born during the
September quarter 1916 in the Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/319.

Although holding a non-combatant role, his Unit was presumably overwhelmed
by the German Spring Offensive that commenced on the 21st March 1918.

Pension Records - Widow - Annie Lewis, 26 Carlton Street, Mansfield,
Nottinghamshire.   Awarded a £5 grant on the 6th April 1918.   They had a
daughter - Hilda Betty Lewis born on the 21st August 1916.   Awarded a
weekly pension of 20/5d w.e.f. the 30th September 1918.   Another record
card states that Annie was residing at 29 Bingham Road, Sherwood,
Nottingham and that her pension comprised 13/9d for herself and 6/8d for
their daughter.

Annie married Harry A. Pilgrim in 1926 in the Nottingham R.D.
