Born in 1895 in Prestwich, the son of David & Emma Hudson (nee Wheeler).

In 1891 the family was residing at 59 Bury New Road, Prestwich, where his
father ran a Fishmonger's shop.  This is undoubtedly where Benjamin was
born.   David & Emma then had three children.

His father died in late September 1897 whilst Emma was still expecting his
brother - Harry.

1901 Census - 59 Bury New Road, Prestwich.   Son - aged: 6 - born:
Prestwich.   Head of household - Emma Hudson - Widow - aged: 36 - occ:
Shopkeeper - Fish & Game Dealer - bornn: Birmingham.  Plus 4 siblings,
including Thomas Henry who was also killed during WW1.

Emma continued the business in Prestwich for a few more years before moving
to 2 Barwick Place, off Washway Road, Ashton upon Mersey.

1911 Census - No Trace.

Pension Records - Dependant - Mrs. Emma Hudson (mother).  1 Barwick Place,
Sale.   States that his name was Benjamin THOMMAS Hudson.    Originally
served with the Royal Scots - No. 275582.   I think that they were getting
mixed up with Thmas Henry Hudson, as he served with the Royal Scots with
the same number.  No award stated.

His brother - Thomas Henry also died on active service.
