Born during the December quarter 1882 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/178,
the eldest son of George & Matilda Jane Bridgwood (nee Wigley).  The birth
was registered as Charles Bridgewood (with an 'e') and no mention of his
middle name - Frederick.  Baptised at Kniveton P.C., Derbyshire where his
maternal grandfather was the landlord of the Angel Inn P.H.

His mother - Matilda Jane Bridgwood died in 1886 - probably in childbirth
as it is at the time of the birth of their youngest son.  She was buried at
Kniveton.
