Aged: 5, his mother - Alice Mander died during the September quarter 1903
in the Prestwich R.D. - ref: 8d/233, aged: 43.  John James married Emma
Cooke during the June quarter 1906 in the Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/427.

Employed by Mr. Saxton, Butcher, Ashton on Mersey before moving to the
Westinghouse Works, Trafford Park.

CD states that he was Formerly 32712 Cheshire Rgt.   The local newspaper
states that he served in the band at the Prees Heath camp for 2 years, then
became the Regimental Drummer to  the King's (Liverpool Rgt) for 12 months,
then went to the front in February 1918.

Death reported in the 24/09/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

late John James Mander.  This is not strictly correct as Emma was his
step-mother.
