the son of Herbert Guy & Annie Maria Blount (nee Worman).

Taking part in the Battle of the Somme 1916, the battalion moved from
Souastre and took part in attack on Gommecourt on the 1st July 1916,
sustaning (203 casualties.  Bn remained working in the area until moved to
Doullens 20/08; Hiermont 22/08; St. Riquier 23/08; Corbie 04/09; Citadel
Camp 06/09; Contour Wood 07/09; Dug communication trench across Death
Valley to the recently captured Leuze Wood 08/09; Faviier Wood 14/09.

MIC - Posted to France on the 12th February 1915.  Awarded the 1915 Star,
the BWM & VM.   Comemmorated on both St. Joseph's (Sale) and Metro-Vicker's
memorials.

Death reported in the 06/10/1916 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.
