Originally named Kisnop it was built in 1919, its gross register tonnage
was 5874, it was 427ft long, 54ft wide and could make 11 knots.  A cargo
ship she became the Empire Dabchick on 14/11/40, on charter to the Ministry
of War Transport.

South of Sable Island, travelling from Liverpool to St. John, New
Brunswick, in convoy ONS146, on the 03/12/42 she was torpedoed by U-183 and
sunk in position 43N 58 17W.  There were no survivors, the ship was lost
with all 48 people on board.

Ronald's father - Robey Warburton, was a Master Mariner.
