December quarter 1916 in the Barton upon Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/977, the
daughter of Arthur Sydney & Nellie Norton (nee Wright).

CWD Report No. 80.   Died at 90 Urmston Lane, Stretford, from where her
body was recovered at 10.00 hrs on the 24th December 1940 and taken to the
City Road Mortuary, Old Trafford.     Her body was identified by her
brother - Kenneth Norton, 195 Winchester Road, Urmston and released for
burial to the Council's Undertaker Contractor - R. Pepperdine, 31 Ayres
Road, Old Trafford.     Described as being 5 feet 3 inches in height, with
brown hair.   Employed as a Clerk.

Buried 30/12/1940 - Burial No. 17,874.

Irene's parents and sister Joyce, were also killed in this incident.

Kenneth Norton was the eldest brother - born in 1909.
