His wife - Ethel Pattie Ridd died on the 20th March 1930

CWD Report No. 28.   Died as a result of blast & falling debris at 133
Clifton Street, Old Trafford, from where his body was recovered at 18.30
hrs on the 31st December 1940 and taken to the City Road Mortuary, Old
Trafford.     His body was identified by his son-in-law - Thomas Harthill,
19 Rosslyn Road, Firswood, husband of his daughter Lora (Lorna) and
released for burial to the Council's Undertaker Contractor - R. Pepperdine,
31 Ayres Road, Old Trafford.   Employed as a Tailor.

Buried 06/01/1941 - Burial No. 17,919.

Killed due to the explosion of a Land Mine.

Story related in 2004 by Julie Wickham - We were lucky because a parachute
mine had landed at the end of Clifton Street and several houses had
collapsed into the cellars, including our previous house, 61.  It was never
rebuilt and the site is now part of the playing field for a new school,
built after the war.

Pattie Ridd. Died at 133 Clifton Street.
