Employed at the Linotype Works, Broadheath.

Killed during a German attack at Vimy Ridge.   The 10th Cheshire Regiment
served in the 75th Brigade, 25th Division.  They landed in France on the
26th October 1915 and transferred to the  7th Brigade, 25th Division. 
Their very first action was in defence of Vimy Ridge.

Death reported in the 13/06/1916 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1917.
