Born during the September quarter 1895 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref:
8a/175, the son of Frank & Elizabeth Gresty (nee Egerton).

In 1891 Frank & Elizabeth were residing at Hall Lane, Mobberley with their
eldest daughter - Gladys M. Gresty.  This is probably the address where
Walter was born.

1901 Census - 19 Church Street, Wincham, Cheshire.   Son - aged: 5 - born:
Mobberley.   Head of household - Frank Gresty - Married - aged: 37 - occ:
Engine Fitter Labourer - born: Manchester.   Also - Elizabeth Gresty - Wife
- aged: 34 - born: Mobberley.   Plus 4 siblings.

His mother - Elizabeth Gresty died in 1908, aged: 41.

1911 Census - No Trace.     His father - Frank Gresty was then residing at
27 Church Street, Wincham.   Now a widower, aged: 47 and employed as a
Baker of Bread.  His 13 year old son - James was residing with him.   James
also served in WW1, but survived the war.
