Born during the June quarter 1897 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/196, the
fourth son of Walter & Mary Adshead (nee Parkes).

1901 Census - 1 Paradice Street, Altrincham.   Son - aged: 3 - born:
Altrincham.   Head of household - Walter Adshead - Married - aged: 43 -
occ: Painter's Labourer - born: Manchester.   Also - Mary Adshead - Wife -
aged: 44 - born: Swinton.   Plus 7 siblings, including his elder brother -
Henry Adshead who was also killed in WW1.

1911 Census - 1 Atlantic Street, Dunham Massey.   Son - aged: 13 - occ:
Errand Boy - born: Altrincham.   Head of household - Walter Adshead -
Married - aged: 53 - occ: Steel Polisher at Engineers - born: Manchester.  
Also - Mary Adshead - Wife - aged: 54 - born: Swinton.   Plus 5 siblings,
including his elder brother - Henry Adshead who was also killed in WW1

Attended St. Margaret's C.of E. School and was employed as a Turner at
George Richards Engineering Co. Broadheath.

His MIC states that his original number in the Cheshire Rgt was - 2683.  It
also states that he received only the BWM & the VM.

He was missing and his mother appealed for information about him in the
06/07/1917 edition of the local newspaper.

He had two brothers in the Army - one brother - Private Henry Pearson
Adshead, was KIA on 29th July 1917.

Death reported in the 01/02/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian, which
stated that his mother was living at Atlantic Street, Broadheath.

Presumably his mother moved to Ponteix, Saskatchewan, Canada after the
war.
