Born during the September quarter 1894 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref:
8a/166, the third son of Walter & Mary Adshead (nee Parkes).

1901 Census - 1 Paradice Street, Altrincham.   Son - aged: 6 - born:
Altrincham.   Head of household - Walter Adshead - Married - aged: 43 -
occ: Painter's Labourer - born: Manchester.   Also - Mary Adshead - Wife -
aged: 44 - born: Swinton.   Plus 7 siblings, including his younger brother
- Robert Adshead who was also killed in WW1.

1911 Census - 1 Atlantic Street, Dunham Massey.   Son - aged: 16 - occ:
Shop Assistant (Stores) - born: Altrincham.   Head of household - Walter
Adshead - Married - aged: 53 - occ: Steel Polisher at Engineers - born:
Manchester.   Also - Mary Adshead - Wife - aged: 54 - born: Swinton.   Plus
5 siblings, including his younger brother - Robert Adshead who was also
killed in WW1.

Attended St. Margaret's C.of E. School and was employed as a Driller by
Messrs. Rowlands Works, Reddish.

Enlisted in September 1916 into the Army Service Corps - No. 224810.  This
is not confirmed by his MIC which states that he received only the BWM &
the VM.

He had two brothers in the Army - one brother - Private Robert Adshead, was
also KinA 29/04/1917.

Death reported in the 01/02/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian, that
stated that his mother was living at Atlantic Street, Broadheath. 

Presumably his mother moved to Ponteix, Saskatchewan, Canada after the
war.
