Born during the March quarter 1899 in the Barton upon Irwell R.D. - ref:
8c/702, the youngest child of George & Emma Burton.   His father died a few
months after he was born - aged: 51.

Stretford.     Head of household - Emma Burton (mother) Widow - aged: 47 -
born: Hulme, Manchester.   Plus 9 elder siblings.

1911 Census - 33 Derby Street, Altrincham.   Son - aged: 12 - born:
Stretford.   Head of household - Emma Burton (mother) Widow - aged: 57 -
born: Manchester.   Also 4 sisters and 2 nieces.

Twice wounded and gassed.

The 26/04/1918 edition of the local newspaper  reported that he was missing
since 21/03/1918 and that information about him was requested.       The
04/10/1918 edition again appeals for information about him.    See also the

Commemorated on the family gravestone in Stretford Cemetery.
