BBorn during the September quarter 1891 in the Salford R.D. - ref: 8d/11,
the son of Patrick & Elizabeth Crowley (nee Levey).

Elizabeth was born in Pendlebury in 1862.   The family were residing at 14
Lorne Street, Pendleton in 1891, which is quite likely where Henry was
born?   Elizabeth died sometime between 1891 and 1901.  Their youngest son
was born in 1895 - childbirth perhaps???

1901 Census - 52 Chaney Street, Pendleton (Parish of St. Paul's), Salford. 
Son - aged: 9 - born: Pendleton, Salford.   Head of household - Patrick
Crowley - Married - aged: 63 - occ: Labourer at Dye Works - born: Ireland. 
 Plus 3 siblings.  No trace of his mother - Elizabeth Crowley.

1911 Census - No Trace of the family.

*Original service number was 6638, later  - 203122.

The 21st (Service) Bn, Manchester Rgt (6th City) were trained at Heaton
Park, Manchester.  The Bn landed at Boulogne in early November 1915 and
transferred to the 7th Division on the 20th December 1915.

Henry was involved in numerous actions, ending up with the Battle of
Broodseinde on the 4th November 1917 in which the Bn suffered a large
number of casualties with 4 officers killed and 9 wounded.  35 Other Ranks
were killed (including Henry), 148 wounded and 19 missing.

His body, identified by his disc, was found at Map ref: J14. 6. 8. 3. then
'concentrated' into the Tyne Cot Cemetery, Zonnebeke, Belgium.
