Extra Information:
No trace of an "A. Parkinson" on CWGC nor SDGW. Listed as having died in
1915 and as serving with the Lancashire Fusiliers on the Linotype Memorial
- no other info. There was an Alfred Parkinson who died in the Bucklow
R.D. - during the September quarter 1915 - aged: 46 and it all fits. I
have entered his date of death as 30/09/1915, which is actually the day he
was buried.

1891 Census - 22 Alma Street, Salford. Son - aged: 22 - occ: Shoemaker -
born: Salford. Head of household - Thomas Parkinson - widow - aged: 66 -
occ: Labourer - born: Worsley.

1901 Census - No Trace - presumably serving in Ireland ?

1911 Census - 15 Castleton Street, Dunham Massey. Head of household -
Married - aged: 42 - occ: Army Pensioner and Labourer employed at Linotype
- born: Salford. Also listed - Elizabeth Parkinson - Wife - aged: 37 -
born: Hillsborough, Co. Down, Ireland. Plus their son - James Alfred
Parkinson - aged: 13 - Scholar - born: Ballymacarett, Belfast. They had
been married for 18 years and produced two children, one of whom had died.

WO364 - Time served soldier - time expired on the 30th November 1909.
Aged: 34 years 7 months he was residing at 51 Lock Road, Broadheath when he
re-enlisted into the Lancashire Fusiliers for Home Service Only on the 8th
September 1914. At the time of his re-enlistment he was 5 feet 5 inches in
height - weighed 118½ lb - 36 - 38 inch chest measurement - hair: Black -
eyes: Grey Brown - Church of England. He was medically examined at the
time and found to be fit for service.

He was obviously not fit enough as he was discharged from the Army at
Seaford as being 'medically unfit' on the 29th October 1914, having
completed just 52 days service. His widow - Elizabeth Parkinson died in
1939, aged: 66.

NOT COMMEMORATED BY THE CWGC.
