Born on the 1st January 1916, the birth being registered during the March
quae=rter 1916 in the Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/264, the only son of Harry &
Alice Alcock (nee Younger).

Attended Sale Central School.    Employed by Tootal, Broadhurst, Lee & Co.,
Manchester for 7 years.    Joined the RA as a Gunner in the summer of 1940.
  An Instructor in anti-tank gunnery.   He was also the camp's messing and
entertainments officer.    He was connected with St. David's Church, Hale,
where he acted as a server.

Alcock - Single - born on the 1st January 1916 - occ: Cotton Textiles
Clerk.   Alice Alcock - Widowed - born on the 22nd August 1876 - occ:

Married Daphne Mary Shell during the December quarter 1942 in the Bucklow
R.D. - ref: 8a/493.   Daphne was born in 1922 and resided at No.14 Westwood
Avenue, Altrincham, they married in October 1942.

He was stationed at Wrotham Camp - R.A. Wing and died of Peritonitis at the
Officers' Hospital, Leeds Castle, Bromfield, Kent.   

Death reported in the 05/02/1943 edition of the Sale & Stretford Guardian. 
It includes a portrait photograph of him.

Buried 04/02/1944 - Burial No. 11,591.   CWGC Headstone.

CWGC - Son of Harry & Alice Alcock; husband of Daphne Mary Alcock of

His widow married Arnold P. Clews in 1951.
