The Harmala was built in 1935, it's gross register tonnage was 5,730, it
was 433 feet long, 58 feet wide and could make 11 knots. A cargo ship, it
was one of 26 ships operated by J & C. Harrison Ltd, 66 Mark Lane, London
EC3.    It could accommodate 12 passengers.

South-east of Cape Farewell, travelling from Rio de Janeiro,Brazil to
Middlesborough in the U.K. via Trinidad, New York & Halifax, Nova Scotia,
with a cargo of 8,500 tons of iron ore, she was torpedoed by U-614, whilst
in convoy SC118, comprising 61 ships and sank in position - 55.14N 26.37W. 
 There were 11 survivors, who were rescued by the Free French Corvette
"Lobélia" and landed at Greenock, but 53 crew/passengers were lost.
